If you like that game, you will enjoy this also.Bare in mind that this plays like an old school game and also trust your jump ;)It doesn't have a good story, lacking to be honest, but it has a good excuse to kill everything. It has many levels, cool secrets, good playthrough that will take a while to complete the whole game especially with the added FREE DLC.Also it has good graphics/animation and weapons that are a blast to play with alongisde upgrading them which offer different weapons. At first I didn't expect much of this game, but it turned out to be a whole lot more fun than I expected. The game feels a bit classic fps-like (think about run&gunners like Serious Sam). You ONLY fight ROBOTS in this game, but the game still feels really dark and intense.Though the game doesn't feature the most hardware consuming graphics, the looks are REALLY good. The use of colours, lighting, shadows and other effects are done extremely well in this game, I haven't seen many games done this as good as this game. The music may not be the grooviest of music you'll ever hear, but it is used really well in a way that fits the game. As soon as a wave of enemies is gonna attack you, the combat music will start playing, and the SECOND you finish off the last enemy the music comes to an end, which really boosts the atmosphere in a positive way.The game also features an upgrade system, which allows you to unlock new weapons and suit upgrades throughout the game. Wich each upgrade point you'll unlock, you'll probably be immediately rushing to the nearest upgrade station like a crack addict who just found a penny because the upgrades help A LOT.The weapon variation is done pretty well, though there are technically only 2 different types of ammo: you have 2 guns of many guns which will form all your weapons throughout the game. The game also features secrets, though they are mostly just nano (required for upgrade points). They did NOT go easy on the invisible walls in this game. Though this is usually no big deal since they are placed in rational locations, sometimes it can make secrets "harder to find" which might leave a bad taste in your mouth. The game has a storyline, but I didn't really feel it. The cutscenes are animated comic-style, which is kinda cool.If you like run&gunning with loads of explosions, the dark cyberpunk setting of the game and fighting robots you'll definitely like this game.. Note: This game been tried out and reviewed in Steam offline mode or on Consoles. This is a PC exclusive (a rare breed these days) with the fully optimized graphic options. The controls are smooth and responsive. I also found myself being swept over with feeling again and again that I was playing a PC exclusive. It is worth paying money to have that feeling - that's what the consoles are turning us into The gameplay is a cross of Doom 3, Serious Sam, Pain Killer and perhaps Unreal Tournament. Oh wait, all of those games have the same gameplay, that's right you move fast and you blow things away with the hundreds of rounds of ammo. So do not expect this game to make you ration your ammo or even health for that matter since your shield will regenerateOverall: I found myself being sucked into this game.Even though The game is extremely short. (4.5 hours), this game is worth it.. This game remains one of the best and most energetic shooters on steam. Worth picking up and playing through. This game does not waste your time.. Please excuse the lack of 100% achievements. I thought I could handle an FPS, but then I took insane for a spin. Hard Reset is like an unrelenting Olympic gymnastic coach who never gives you a moment's break. Are you sure you are out of the blast radius? Нет . You miscalculated your shield recharge time? Nein. You thought a few heavy headshots would kill a charging monstrosity in time? 不. Did you think you found good cover from? No. In the first level of the game I felt like I deserved a parade at every check point. But soon enough, I realized I was just being lazy. I loved Doom, Quake, and Unreal Tournament growing up. I had babied my FPS muscles and was suffering from atrophy in the L33t skillz area. With that in mind, I stepped up my game and started being more careful, more precise. I still died a lot, but now I was learning. I still felt supreme satisfaction, but I also gained a newfound respect in the balance. The game was trying to train me, and get me used to playing a shooter where I don't just respawn 2 seconds away, automatically regenarate all my health, or kill enemies in a few hits. All that being said, Hard Reset is not perfect. The story could not really hold my attention, though the art was kind of nice. The load times can be a longer than comfortable. I despise the autosave system: I could have a perfect run all the way up to one point, only to be killed out of nowhere and have to try to recover my balance in the next load. I also feel like I should point out that it is not the hardest game ever made. I make it sound extremely tough, but I do not consider myself really great at shooters. Challenge is very subjective: I found Hotline MIami to be moderately diffiuclt on my old trackpad, but I cannot play War of the Roses or Megaman to save my life.Hard Reset feels extremely refreshing and satisfying, while familiar at the same time. It has been bundled and been on sale frequently, so this is a solid, engaging experience worth checking out.
